Laboratory Testing of Hi-Impact Technology:

High Impact Technologies: testing

SEAS maintains a fully equipped laboratory for in-house impact and environmental testing. Our primary drop test device is capable of testing items up 1000 pounds and up to 200Gs.

High Impact Technologies: boat seats

A typical boat seat transmits most all of the energy that the boat experiences to the seat occupant. As shown above the boat (red) and the ATD manikin see about the same level of Gs (5G).

High Impact Technologies: marine

A boat equipped with a Sea Systems Hi-Impact Seat transmits only about 20% of the energy that the boat experiences to the seat occupant. As shown above the boat (red) shows 10G and the ATD manikin only shows 2 Gs.

Hi-Impact Inflatable Seat Restraint Test Results:

High Impact Technologies: seat restraints

With our new inflatable restraint system you can increase your ability to stay in the seat by 100%. Climb in and pump the bulb to feel the seat tighten around you. You can add as little or as much as you like to hold you in place. See the following chart on how much additional energy (foot pounds) it takes to pull a 190 pound man from a SEA Systems Hi-Impact Seat™.

Pressure Mapping Results:

Offshore Racing Boat Pressure Mapping Video

The link above is to a clip above is a pressure mapping video of The MitiGator™ technology that is used in an off-shore racing boat seat cushion.

A pressure mapping system is a flat piece of material with sensors that measure pressures. It was designed for researchers in order to make determinations about comfort, pressure ulcers or product differences. Pressure mapping uses sophisticated hardware and software. This system is currently being used by the Healthcare Finance Administration to categorize cushions.

Most pressure mapping systems are computer based. The numbers on the screen correspond with a pressure reading. Blues are low pressures and reds are high pressures. The pressure mapping system measures uniaxial pressure (vertical or straight down) and does not measure shear forces. energy absorbtion

The MitiGator™ Technology is an engineered cushioning system designed to protect people from hi-speed, hi-impact assaults and to allow them to continue to perform their jobs or enjoy their leisure time. The MitiGator™ uses patented air control technology working with 4,044 surfaces per square foot to dissipate energy before it is transmitted to the body and thus help alleviate the problems.
