More than 9000 new HMMWV (M1152) have been equipped with seats that incorporate a submersible MitiGator™ layer in the commanders seat to mitigate blast forces encountered when hit by a land mine or IED. The seat was so well received that 500 units that incorporated competitor’s cushions were refused by the Army until the seats were replaced with cushions that use The MitiGator™. Blast testing was carried out at Aberdeen Proving Grounds in Maryland. Test results are classified. In May of 2006 the first 500 vehicles we fielded in Iraq.
The Hi-Impact ™ System dissipates much of the energy of IED & mine blasts as well as shocks / vibrations / impacts and prevents that energy from passing through to the human body, thus reducing the level of injury sustained. Musculoskeletal injuries are an enduring problem for the military.
The MitiGator™ is the workhorse that makes the MitiGator™ unmatched in the industry. MitiGator™ seats without any other equipment can reduce shocks by as much as 80%.
