2006 Hydroplane Challenge

The Clarksville Economic Development Association and the American Power Boat Association present the 2006 World Inboard Championship Races in Clarksville Virginia. This is the second year for Clarksville to host a hydroplane race. It is a one mile course set out between two bridges.

Sea Systems, Inc. will demonstrate our MitiGator™ technology at the event to competitors from the United States, Canada and around the world. The MitiGator™ technology was used in the red hydroplane boat pictured here in 2005. This competitor finished third in his challenge.

Prototype Hi-Impact hydroplane seat under construction.

Sea Systems, Inc. displayed The MitiGator™ Hi-Impact Seating and Decking™ technology combined with the shock absorbing Seaspension® pedestal at the races. The seating system designed and implemented is specifically intended to reduce such injuries for professional power boat competitors. SEAS had such a system in place for an APBA-UIM offshore racing champion's boat by the end of November 2005 in The Joker by High Priority Offshore Racing.

We will have a SEA Systems Hi-Impact seat for hydroplanes in our display at the 2006 race.

The seating system will reduce the physical costs of racing for the operator and the throttle man. See our Off Shore Racing pages for more information regarding this particular seating system.
